NFA v 24.03: introducing the Application Name length filtering, PTR records display & more
Refined IP Flow Data Exploration & Analysis
In our quest to enhance your data exploration capabilities, we’ve implemented advanced filtering options for application names, allowing for precise analysis. Coupled with a significant boost in the performance of IANA-L4 dictionary searches, this update ensures a more efficient and accurate identification of application names within your flows. Additionally, we’ve introduced new customization options, such as filtering for application name custom groups, allowing for a more personalized flow data analysis and deeper insights into your network traffic.
Noction is delighted to announce the release of a comprehensive NFA update, packed with enhancements and new features designed to elevate your data analysis experience. In the latest 24.03 release, we’ve focused on refining the NFA’s data exploration capabilities, introducing advanced filtering options for application names, and significantly boosting the overall system performance. Improved Management & User Experience
Our focus on enhancing user experience has led to the introduction of improved PTR records management. With new endpoints for PTR records dictionary management and frontend functionalities for viewing and handling these records, we’ve made it easier to manage flow data context. The addition of source and destination IP address-related PTR records display in the Data Explorer further enriches your network traffic analysis.
Data Handling & Performance Enhancements
We’ve introduced bits-related metrics support for SNMP interfaces and fine-tuned the flows reception time marking. These updates aim to provide more detailed network interface statistics and ensure data accuracy by aligning timestamps closely with the actual UDP packet reception times.
Significant under-the-hood improvements include caching for reverse (PTR) lookup requests in DNSd and the disabling of various logging processes in Clickhouse to enhance performance. Additionally, the Clickhouse database has been updated to the latest LTS version for improved stability.
