IRP 4.2 is here, featuring advanced BGP FlowSpec Geo-blocking Capability
As the landscape of network security threats continues to evolve, we understand the importance of staying ahead of the curve. The newly added “Policies by Country” feature empowers network administrators to manipulate routing decisions and restrict internet traffic based on specific geographic regions. You have the flexibility to establish packet filtering rules based on protocols, port numbers, and destination prefixes, allowing for a highly nuanced and customized approach to network security. Furthermore, specific prefixes or ASNs can be exempted from these rules, ensuring that unaffected traffic associated with those entries flows seamlessly. To facilitate informed routing decisions, the platform provides detailed lists of prefixes and ASNs associated with each specific country’s policy, putting comprehensive information at your fingertips.
In addition to the geo-blocking capability mentioned above, IRP v4.2 brings forth other improvements designed to elevate your network performance and management:
- Support for RFC8955: Noction IRP now fully supports RFC8955, enabling efficient dissemination and enforcement of Flow Specification Rules. Network administrators can seamlessly distribute and enforce complex traffic filtering rules across their entire network infrastructure.
- Streamlined Distribution of Geolocation Data: Noction IRP has revamped its mechanism for distributing geolocation data. Fresh and up-to-date data can now be directly downloaded from Noction servers, ensuring accurate geolocation information for precise and effective geo-blocking measures.
- Improved Reporting and Analysis: We’ve bolstered Noction IRP’s reporting capabilities with enhanced graphs and metrics. The “Total Bandwidth Usage” and “Total & Improved Traffic” graphs now provide even deeper insights into network performance, enabling you to make data-driven decisions with confidence. Additionally, the Inbound Traffic Distribution report now offers a comprehensive one-year history, facilitating a broader timeframe for analysis and identification of trends.
